A concept art project that explores "ma", the in-between space between childhood and adulthood, human and yōkai, countryside and city. After moving to Tokyo, a lonely boy follows strange creatures through hidden torii gates into a shrine where he meets his reflection revealed as a Bakeneko, a shapeshifting cat spirit. Through a moonlit festival procession across the sleeping city, the two discover what it means to be truly seen without needing to transform.

This project was developed during the Versatile VisDev Styles Workshop with Angela Sung and Nikita Chan, where I explored a range of visual development styles.
